My Story:

Whitney Canada joins Beacon Academy as a Licensed Professional Counselor. She is from Halifax, VA and has spent most of her life in southern Virginia. Whitney graduated from Coastal Carolina University in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology and minored in sociology. Upon graduation, Whitney began Liberty University’s Master of Arts program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Before joining the team at Beacon Academy, Whitney worked as an Associate Mental Health Professional at a residential treatment facility for children and adolescents and then as a Therapeutic Day Treatment Clinician within Campbell County schools.

​Whitney whole heartedly believes in the potential of every student and strives to help them meet their goals through a positive therapeutic relationship. Whitney hopes to help each child reach boundless individual potential through compassionate care, understanding and collaboration with families.
