My Story:

Erin Lanier joins the Beacon Academy family as an elementary teacher. Erin is from Rockville, Va and attended Patrick Henry High School in Ashland, Va. Following her high school graduation, she attended Sweet Briar College in Amherst, Va, where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies in 2008, and her Masters in Teaching in 2009. Erin has continued to pursue her love of learning through educational workshops and other online college courses. Most recently,  Erin obtained her Special Education endorsement with her Virginia Teaching License.  

Erin began her teaching career at Woodberry Hills Elementary in Danville, Va in 2009 where she taught 5th grade. In 2013, she left Danville to move closer to her home in Hurt, Va and began teaching at Yellow Branch Elementary in Campbell County. Erin also served as a teacher for the Campbell County Online Learning Academy for the 2020-2021 school year. She is very excited to continue her love of teaching and learning with Beacon Academy.

Erin loves and appreciates student-centered learning with her ultimate goal being to create a learning team and classroom that focuses on every child's growth, success, and personal accomplishments.

Erin loves spending time with her family and working on their farm, while helping run their True Grit Rodeo company. Her favorite movies are anything Marvel, Harry Potter, Star Wars, or The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. Erin also loves to fish, garden, rodeo, games, soccer, and just be with those she considers family. She has a very loving, fun, and adventurous competitive spirit.
