My Story:

Cheri Wood joins Beacon Academy and will be working as a paraprofessional. She comes to us with many years of experience  working  with children in grades Pre-K through 12th grade. Cheri graduated from Amherst County High School and continued her education at Central Virginia Community College where she earned an Associate's Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. She also attended Radford University, earning a BS in Interdisciplinary Studies and an MS in Curriculum and Instruction. She furthered her education as a post graduate at Lynchburg College where she received teacher  certification/licensure to teach Pre-K-12 Special Education.

In her free time, Cheri enjoys spending  time with family and friends, and her dog, a ShiChi, named Darla Rae. She also enjoys exercising, reading, photography, gardening, and nature.
